EL RENO, Okla. —
Gov. Mary Fallin is to announce construction of a new Interstate 40 interchange in El Reno that will be funded in part by public and private sources.
The governor is to announce Friday that the interchange will be at Radio Road in El Reno and that it’s being built largely to accommodate increased traffic generated by the oil industry.
Fallin’s office says Chesapeake Energy Corp. is among the participants in the project and the company’s CEO is to make remarks at the 10 a.m. event.
El Reno has become a hub for the oilfield service industry and employs thousands of residents there.
