Investigators ID body found by hunter in Osage County

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — Authorities say remains found three weeks ago in Osage County belong to a 62-year-old man who disappeared in August after leaving a casino.

Osage County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Charlie Cartwright says state medical examiners confirmed that the remains belong to Timothy Allen Hauser of Bartlesville. A deer hunter discovered the remains Dec. 29 in a pasture about four miles west of Bartlesville.

Hauser disappeared Aug. 9 from an Osage County casino, and authorities believe he was beaten and robbed.

Two people have been charged with robbing Hauser. Cartwrightsaid he anticipates prosecutors will file murder charges against the pair now that Hauser's remains have been identified.
