Cushing teen shot by police dies

CUSHING, Okla. — An 18-year old Cushing man shot by Cushing police officers Thursday night died early Friday morning in a Tulsa hospital.



Cushing police officers shot Rabih Ozeir at approxiamtely 7 p.m. Thursday during a disturbance at Simpsons Chiropractic, 1523 E. Main St.. Police officials said Ozeir pointed a gun and threatened officers. Officers shot Ozeir multiple times when he refused to drop his weapon, according to a police report.



Ozeir was taken to Hillcrest Hospital in Cushing and transferred to St. John’s Trauma Center in Tulsa. He was pronounced dead shortly after midnight Thursday, according to the report.



The officers have been placed on paid administrative leave, pending outcome of an Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation inquiry into the shooting. The officers’ names are not being released because of the investigation, according to the report.
