OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma City police have arrested a man who was reportedly firing gunshots outside a home near an elementary school.
Mark Twain Elementary School about two blocks away was placed on lock down — but no injuries are reported.
Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow says officers responding to a call of shots fired about 8:50 a.m. Tuesday went to the home that’s also just east of State Fair Park in western Oklahoma City.
Wardlow says the man ran into the house when officers arrived — but surrendered without incident about 30 minutes later.
Wardlow says 51-year-old Doroteo Rendon was arrested for possession of a firearm after a felony conviction. Court records show Rendon has several previous drug-related convictions.
