NORMAN, Okla. — A prosecutor says a Norman man charged with three counts of first-degree murder shot the victims in the face, throat and upper chest before he was disarmed.
Cleveland County District Attorney Greg Mashburn made the comments Monday during opening statements in the trial of 53-year-old William Eugene Davis. Davis is accused of killing his two sisters and the 87-year-old mother-in-law of one of the women in Norman on Sept. 4, 2007.
He’s also charged with assault with intent to kill for threatening blind Vietnam War veteran Joseph Link. It was Link who disarmed Davis.
Defense attorney Craig Corgan said Davis is an alcoholic and suffers bi-polar mental disorder. Corgan says Davis’ blood-alcohol level at the time was .308 and he was not able to form the intent to kill.
