STILLWATER — —
Christian Lafontan struck out 12 and allowed only four hits as Enid defeated Stillwater 7-3 in Centennial Conference baseball action Tuesday night.
The game was stopped in the sixth inning because of weather conditions.
Lafontan struck out eight over the last three innings. He got out of a bases-loaded jam in the second inning with two strikeouts and a popup.
“He did a good job,’’ said Enid coach James Peoples. “He really pitched out of some jams tonight.’’
Brady Baugh had two doubles to pace the Enid attack. Kaleb Hulva hit a home run shortly before the game was stopped.
Dylan Walker opened the scoring in the first with a three-RBI double. Colter LeGrant drove in a run in the second on a grounder while Seth Floyd had a sacrifice fly.
Floyd drove in Baugh in the fourth with his second single of the night.
The Plainsmen, who committed seven errors in a 7-2 loss to the Pioneers Monday, had only one miscue Tuesday.
“We responded well after the debacle last night,’’ Peoples said. “I was happy with how we played.’’
EHS, 9-8 overall and 3-1 in the conference, will travel to Woodward Thursday. Stillwater dropped to 4-1 in the conference with the loss.
Enid visits Woodward Thursday.
