ANADARKO, Okla. —
Hydro-Eakly hit a 3-pointer with 40 seconds left to beat Oklahoma Bible Academy 33-32 in the Class 2A Area I losers bracket quarterfinals Thursday.
The Trojans (13-15) missed a layup in the final seconds which would have put them in today’s losers bracket semifinals.
Hydro-Eakly outscored OBA 8-2 in the final period to rally back from a 30-25 deficit.
“It was a tough game,’’ said OBA assistant coach Kyle Kuykendall, “but we improved a lot from last year.’’
Preston Atwood led the Trojans with 10 points.
• Hinton jumped on Fairview early in eliminating the Yellowjackets 60-38 in the afternoon game.
The Comets led 17-5 after the first period and continued to build up their lead.
Bryce Kippenberger was the lone Yellowjacket in double figures with 18 points.
“We ran into a team which was really hot and we were really cold,’’ said Fairview coach David Baldwin. “That’s a recipe for disaster.’’
The Yellowjackets finished the season at 19-8.
Fairview’s girls (23-3) face Dale (26-1) in the girls winners bracket finals at 6:30 p.m. for a state tournament berth.
The Lady Jackets’ three losses have all come against Alva. Dale has won 19 straight since a 49-44 overtime loss to Bethel on Dec. 11.

• At Purcell, Kortney Meat had 18 points to lead Kingfisher’s girls past Prague 65-47 in a Class 3A Area II losers bracket quarterfinals contest.
Macy McAdam had 16 points, while Shalyn Layn had 15. Kingfisher faces Lindsay at 1:30 p.m. today.
