Texas vs. Nation game
Alva’s Mitchell Gale, who finished his collegiate career at Abilene Christian as both the school’s and Lone Star Conference’s leading passer, has been selected to play in the Texas vs. The Nation All-Star Game Feb. 2 in Allen, Texas.
The game pits players from Texas, or who play college football in the Lone Star State against all-stars from the rest of the nation.
According to the game’s website, Gale will be teammates with Oklahoma State guards Jonathan Rush and Lane Taylor and linebacker Alex Elkins, Oklahoma wide receiver Justin Brown and defensive linemen David King and Stacy McGee.
Other players with Oklahoma ties on the team are Tulsa running back Wilie Carter and East Central defensive end Armonty Bryant.

All-Star game today
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — College football seniors are once again using the site of the old Blue-Gray game to try to impress pro teams.
The first Raycom College Football All-Star Classic is being held Saturday in the Montgomery stadium that hosted the now-defunct game that was a Christmas Day tradition until a decade ago.
The quarterbacks include Purdue’s Robert Marve for the Stripes team and Pittsburgh’s Tino Sunseri for the Stars. Tulsa center Trent Dupy of Enid will be playing for the Stars along with Air Force linebacker Alex Means and Northestern Oklahoma State offensive lineman Michael Bowie, formerly of Oklahoma State.
Two OSU players — offensive lineman Jonathan Rush and defensive lineman Nigel Nicholson will join Oklahoma defensive lineman Jamarkus McFarland on the Stripes team.
