Sports briefs for 2-15-12

NOC Enid vs. Eastern rescheduled to tonight



Northern Oklahoma College Enid’s basketball games scheduled for Monday at Eastern Oklahoma State College were rescheduled to tonight due to inclement weather.

The sixth-ranked Lady Jets (21-2) are scheduled to tip-off at 6 p.m., while the men (16-7) will play at 8 p.m. against the eighth-ranked Mountaineers.



NOC Enid baseball DH vs. Rose State today



NOC Enid’s baseball doubleheader at Rose State, originally scheduled for Tuesday, will be played at 1 p.m. today after weather forced postponement of Tuesday’s doubleheader.

The Jets (0-1) are coming off of an opening day 4-3 loss Feb. 9 to Butler County (Kan.). Rose State is 1-1.



Meadowlake ‘Living on the Edge’ Saturday



Meadowlake Golf Course is hosting “Living on the Edge” Saturday.

The event will feature a 4-person shamble on the front nine (everyone hits his/her own tee shot and each player plays his/her ball from the spot of the best tee shot), and a 4-person scramble on the back nine.

There will be an 11:30 a.m. shotgun start.

Event is limited to first 20 teams to register. For more information or to sign-up, call 234-3080.



Softball coaches to meet Sunday



Northwest District Amateur Softball Association’s coaches meeting is scheduled for Sunday at Oakwood Mall, next to Dillard’s.

The youth meeting will be a 2 p.m., followed by the adult meeting at 3:30 p.m. All teams must have at least one coach attend a meeting before the start of the 2012 season.

Pheasant Run men to meet Tuesday



Pheasant Run Golf Course Men’s Associa-tion annual meeting is 7 p.m. Tuesday at Pheasant Run Golf Course clubhouse.

Agenda items will include election of 2012 officers, introduction of new golf course ownership and information on upcoming events.

All are welcome. Food will be provided.



EJRT begins baseball sign-ups for 2012



EJRT baseball is accepting player registrations for the 2012 baseball season. Teams will be formed by age group for boys and girls: 4-year-old non-competitive t-ball; 6 under t-ball; 8 under coach pitch and 10 under and 12 under.

The season will run early April-July 3.

Adults interested in coaching or helping are needed.

Sign up deadline is Feb. 24.

Enid baseball parents slated to meet Feb. 22



Enid junior high and high school baseball teams will have a parent meeting at David Allen Memorial Ballpark Feb. 22.

The junior high meeting will be at 6:30 p.m., followed by the high school at 7.
