Pioneer Colts eye alums to ride in float



Pioneer Youth Sports is looking for Pioneer alumni football players from the 1970s and the 1980s to ride on the “Untie the Colts” Cherokee Strip Parade float on Sept. 18. For information, contact Robert Thompson at 580-554-0680.



Enid Soccer Club looks for head ref



Enid Soccer Club is looking for a head referee for the upcoming fall season.

’54 Garber, EHS players sought for reunion



To celebrate the Sept. 10 home-opener on the new turf of D. Bruce Selby Stadium against Midwest City, Plainsmen football booster John Cain is looking to assemble a reunion of players from the first game that christened the opening of Plainsmen Field in 1954.

Anyone who played for Enid or Garber, or knows someone who participated in the 1954 contest, is asked to contact Donnie Weldon at 402-2519, Guy Hays at 541-3386 or 234-0007, Bryan Bay at 237-1181, ext. 1 or Cain at 554-8801.



Dick Allen Memorial tourney set Sept. 17



Dick Allen Memorial Home Builders Tournament will be Sept. 17 at Pheasant Run Golf Club.

Today is deadline for YMCA basketball



Registration for the Denny Price Family YMCA’s adult basketball program will run through today. Cost is $325 per team.

Dover dove hunt golf benefit Sept. 14



Third annual Dover Dove Hunt Benefit Golf Tournament, featuring former Heisman Trophy winners Steve Owens, Billy Sims and Jason White will be at noon Sept. 14 at Hennessey’s Turkey Creek Golf Course.

Cost is $300 per team for the four-player scramble and includes cart and lunch.

Mulligans are $5 and are limited to two per player.

There will be an optional $100 per team players pool with 100 percent payback. Play will be limited to the first 36 teams.

Play will be flighted according to the number of entries.

There will be both a silent and live auction.

Registration will be from 10-11:30 a.m. Lunch will be served beginning at 10:30 a.m.

CHS Booster Club meeting Wednesday



The Chisholm High School Booster Club will meet at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday in the high school cafeteria.
