POND CREEK, Okla. —
Top-ranked Laverne defeated No. 2 Pond Creek-Hunter 36-18 to claim the District B-1 championship Friday night.
Trevor Harris scored four touchdowns for the Tigers, who led 28-6 after three quarters and held off the Panthers. His scoring runs covered 85, 47, 27 and 56 yards.
Dalton Birch scored the other touchdown for Laverne on a 43-yard run.
Josh Irvin threw three touchdowns for Pond Creek-Hunter: 8 yards and 20 yards to Brady Krittenbrink and 33 yards to Devan McKee.
Laverne heads into the playoffs with a 10-0 record. The Tigers ended up 9-0 in district.
The loss was the first for the Panthers (9-1 overall and 8-1 in district). Both teams will be at home for the first round of the playoffs next week.
Laverne will host the fourth-place team from District B-2, while the Panthers will entertain the third-place team from B-2.
