Sports briefs for 9-9-10

Stadium parking will benefit video board



The Enid football boosters will be offering parking on the west side of D. Bruce Selby Stadium on the grass field, weather permitting, prior to Friday night’s 7:30 p.m. game against Midwest City.

Cost is $10 and all proceeds will benefit the future funding of a video board for the stadium.



Tailgate Friday night with the Greybeards



Fans are invited to tailgate with the Greybeards on the north side of D. Bruce Selby Stadium Friday prior to Enid’s football home opener. Kickoff against Midwest City is set for 7:30 p.m.

The Greybeards will be serving Greybeard Burger or King Dog Baskets from 5:45 - 7:15 p.m. Cost is $5 and includes chips, cookie and a drink. All proceeds will benefit the EHS football program.



EHS coaches will host youth T-Ball league



Enid High School baseball and softball coaches will host and supervise a T- Ball league for kids ages five and under on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 22 and 29 from 6 to 7 p.m. The league will play at David Allen Ballpark on the turf behind right field.



NWOSU’s Mata named CSFL special teams player of the week



Northwestern Oklahoma State University kicker Robert Mata was named the Central States Football League special teams player of the week.

The 6-3, 185 pound senior out of West Covina, Calif., averaged 41 yards per punt in NWOSU’s 55-13 loss to Colorado State-Pueblo Saturday.

Mata punted nine times for 369 yards, had a long punt of 58 yards and placed two punts inside the 20-yard line.
