EL DORADO, Kan. — Northern Oklahoma College Enid pounded out 12 hits and defeated Butler County Community College 11-8 in El Dorado, Kan., Wednesday.
It was the Jets’ sixth victory in their last seven games, and their third straight after taking a doubleheader from Dodge on Tuesday. NOC Enid (11-6) has scored 10 or more runs in five games this season.
The Jets’ hitting attack was led Wednesday by sophomore Chrisitan Faulkner, who went 4-for-5, including a home run and double, while driving in four runs, and fellow sophomore Dusty Harper, who went 3-for-5 with a home run, double and four RBI.
Jonathan Johnson earned the win on the mound for the Jets, going 42⁄3 innings, allowing five earned runs, striking out four and giving up four walks. Freshman Shawn Hunter earned the save after relieving Johnson and shutting down Butler County over the last three innings.
NOC Enid continues its road swing with a doubleheader against Indepen-dence (Kan.) before returning home Sunday to David Allen Memorial Ballpark to begin a three-game series against Kirkwood (Iowa) Community College, with a doubleheader at 1 p.m., followed by a single nine-inning game scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday
