ENID —
BROKEN ARROW — Broken Arrow scratched out a run in the bottom of the fourth inning and made it stand up in a 5-4 win over the Enid Plainsmen here Tuesday afternoon.
Broken Arrow (20-4) got a bunt single, a sacrifice bunt and an RBI single for the go-ahead run off Enid starter Tanner Leon.
Leon went the distance, scattering eight hits.
Enid scored four runs in the second inning on a two-run single by Joe Black, an RBI triple by Colter LeGrant and an RBI single by Dillon Walker.
Joe Phillips and Black each had two hits for the Plainsmen. Seth Floyd and Eric Ramirez had doubles.
“Against good clubs, you have to play a clean game or it will come back to haunt you,’’ said Enid coach James Peoples.
Enid (11-9) opens play in the Stillwater Tournament today. The Plainsmen take on Skiatook at noon. Lawson King is expected to start on the mound for Enid.
Mike Phillips will start against Midwest City at noon on Thursday.
The Plainsmen play Edmond Memorial at 5 p.m. on Friday. The tournament concludes Saturday.
