The Enid Pacers’ struggles from the foul line continued Saturday in the third-place game of the Altus Tournament.
And it led directly to a loss.
Enid connected on just 9 of 36 shots from the foul line and lost to Altus 47-44.
The Pacers (2-3) trailed by 11 points in the fourth quarter but rallied to tie the game. But Enid was not able to take a lead.
In five games this season, the Pacers have missed 80 free throws.
Courtney Chelf led Enid with 13 points. Rani Melvin had 12 and Ty Washington had 10.
The Plainsmen got 15 points from Alex Patterson but lost to Ardmore 68-40 in the third-place game of the Conoco-Phillips Arvest Invitational in Bartlesville.
The Plainsmen (3-2) were outscored 22-11 in the first period.
Patterson was the only Enid player to score in double figures.
Enid coach T.J. Scholz said the Plainsmen had too many turnovers and allowed too many offensive rebounds.
The Enid girls and boys will host Stillwater on Tuesday at the Mabee Center at NOC Enid.
