ALTUS — Courtney Chelf scored 17 points and Rani Melvin had 13 points as Enid’s girls defeated Wichita Falls, Texas High School 51-49 in overtime in a first-round game at the 19th annual Lady Bulldog Classic Thursday.
The Pacers outscored the Lady Coyotes 15-12 in the fourth period to force an overtime period in the rematch of last year’s championship game in the tournament.
Haley Rasp hit a 3-point shot to give Enid a 46-42 lead in the extra period.
The Pacers trailed by as many as nine points in the first half.
“We kept working our way back into it,’’ said Enid coach Layne Jones. “The girls played good defense and we were able to get the ball to go in the hole a little bit.’’
Melvin had six points in the final period. Regan Crowl, who had six points overall, had a strong fourth quarter as well.
Chelf, a freshman, was steady throughout.
“She played very well,’’ Jones said.
Enid was 11 of 22 from the foul line.
The Pacers (2-1) will play the Cache-Lawton Eisenhower winner at 6:30 tonight in the semifinals.
