Orders being taken

for playoff T-shirts



Enid’s football boosters are selling playoff T-shirts.

Deadline for orders will be noon Monday. Shirts are available in five sizes — small, medium, large, X-large and XXL. Cost is $15, except for the XXL, which is $17.

Shirts may be ordered by calling either Melanie Miller, 278-1558; Robin Newby, 977-8114; and Carol Clemens, 747-5248. All orders must be paid in advance.

Orders may be turned in at Surety Abstract, 105 N. Grand. The shirts can be picked up at Surety Abstract Thursday.



Jets entertain

OBU JV today



Northern Oklahoma College Enid’s men’s basketball team will try to raise its record to 2-1 when the Jets host Oklahoma Baptist Junior Varsity at 3 p.m. today at the Mabee Center.

The Jets are coming off a 75-72 loss to Pratt (Kan.) Community College Thursday.

Ben Smith leads the attack with an 18-point average.



EHS matmen go to

takedown tourney



Seven Enid wrestlers will participate in a takedown tournament at Tulsa Union High School today.

Only takedowns will be scored in the tournament. Matches will consist of one three-minute period.

EHS wrestlers participating are Charles Grothe, Hayden Houska, Nick Keeling, Chris Kirkley, Adan Lopez, Cameron Thomas and Michael Wilson.

“Once they’re taken down, they put them right back up,’’ said EHS coach Devin Golden. “It’s a very early preseason type situation.’’



Tickets on sale for

Enid softball banquet



Tickets have gone on sale for Enid’s softball banquet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the high school cafeteria. The banquet honors both the middle school and high school teams. Tickets can be purchased from any middle school or high school player or coach. Cost is $11 in advance and $15 at the door.



Swimmers go to

Harrah Invitational



Anna Megli and Megan Holthoff will be trying to add to their state qualifying times when the Enid swimmers go to the Harrah Invitational today.

Megli had state cuts in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard breaststroke while Holthoff had state cuts in the 50-yard free and 100-yard butterfly in a dual against Ponca City Tuesday.

Holthoff will go in the 200 IM and 100 free today while Megli will swim the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard breaststroke.

They will team with Whitney Livesay and Ashley Valdez to try to add another state cut in the 200-yard medley relay. The quartet had state cuts in the 200-yard free and 400-yard free relays Tuesday.

Parker Phillips is trying to get a state cut in the 100-yard butterfly. He missed by .43 of a second at qualifying against Ponca City.

“He should get that,’’ said Enid coach Ginny Shipley. “We want to get as many state cuts as we can.’’
