Cimarron’s Ken Jones will really be making his return to the bench tonight when the Blazers host Burlington in the second half of a 6:30 girls-boys basketball doubleheader.
Cimarron’s game with Aline-Cleo, originally scheduled for Tuesday, has been re-scheduled for December 18.
Jones inherits four starters from last year’s 3-21 team which lost to Burlington 68-27 — 6-foot junior forward Brian Root, 6-4 junior post Cody Roggow, 5-8 junior guard Cody Carpenter and 5-7 senior guard Zac Novosad.
Burlington opened the season with a 44-42 win over Drummond behind 23 points from Garrett Butler.
Cimarron’s girls return three starters from a 13-14 team which beat Burlington 44-17 — 5-7 junior guard-forward Rachel Ford (8.9 ppg and 3.7 rpg), 5-7 senior guard Hannah Brien (5.3 ppg and 2.6 rpg) and 5-8 senior forward Kristen Hobson (3.7 ppg and 2.6 rpg). Burlington’s girls opened their season with a 43-35 win over Drummond Tuesday behind 12 points from freshman Tiffany Rieger.
