NEWTON, Kan., 7, ENID AREA AAA 5

The Enid Area AAA baseball team might have been the only people in town Saturday not to welcome a little rain shower in the afternoon.

The Area AAA was trailing Newton, Kan., 7-5 after five innings when the game was called. Enid had scored three runs in the fifth.

“We were kind of disappointed because we were making a run,’’ said Area AAA coach Eric Sunderland. “We start to see the ball better and we were able to get some runs across.’’

The Area AAA (14-11) will travel to Edmond Santa Fe for an 8 p.m. game Monday.
