Enid Soccer Club looking for coaches



Enid Soccer Club is looking for qualified coaches for all of its competitive teams.

Wheat Capital golf registration begins



Registration has begun for the 2009 Wheat Capital Golf Tournament Aug. 1-2 at Meadowlake Golf Course.

Fees are $85.

Entry forms are available at the Meadowlake pro shop.

Entry deadline is 6 p.m. July 27. The field will be limited to the first 144 paid entries. Entry forms must be filled out completely and paid to secure a spot in the field.

Liddell to hold soccer camps in July



Enid soccer coach Craig Liddell, the technical director of the Pumas & Pride, will direct two weeks of soccer camps next month.

A camp for high school-age players will be July 20-24 with sessions from 9 a.m-noon and 1:30-3 p.m.. Cost is $55 and includes a camp T-shirt.

A camp for players 5 years old to Under 14s will be from 9 a.m-noon July 27-31. The session for 5 and 6-year olds will be from 9-10:45.

Cost is $80 and $50 for the 5 and 6-year olds and includes a camp T-shirt and certificate.

No green fees at Northern Hills July 4-5



Northern Hills Golf Course will offer free green fees Saturday and July 5 in memory of the late Jim Atkinson.

The course will be open beginning at 7 a.m.

Northern Hills Men’s Golf Association will have its first meeting at 6:30 p.m. July 6.

EJRT swim, tennis lessons start Monday



Second session of Enid Joint Recreation Triad swimming and tennis lessons will begin Monday.

Morning swim lessons at Champlin Pool will be 9, 9:40, 10:20 and 11 with evening lessons at 7 and 7:35.

Each lesson is 30 minutes. Cost is $15 for 10 lessons. Swimmers can sign up a few minutes before the lesson time or call instructor Susan Glasgow at 540-4004 or e-mail her at sglasgowl@suddenlink.net.

Tennis will consist of four weeks of lessons on either Monday-Wednesday, Tuesday-Thursday or all four days.

Morning times are 8:30, 9:30 and 10:30 at the Ninth Street Courts. Each lesson lasts one hour.

Cost is $25 for twice a week and $40 for all four days. Those interested can enroll at the Ninth Street courts a few minutes before the lesson or call instructor Bruce Hess at 484-2954.



Registration begins for YMCA/NOC camp



Registration is on for the Denny Price Family YMCA/Northern Oklahoma College Enid basketball camps.

The camp for grades 3-6 will be July 20-24 at the Mabee Center. The camp for 4-year old to second grade will be July 27-31 at the YMCA.

Cost is $50 for members and $75 for non-members. Entry deadline is July 15. For information, call the YMCA at 237-4645.



Golf lessons deadline extended to today



Registration for Denny Price Family YMCA’s golf lessons has been extended to today. Meadowlake pro Cody Lack will conduct the class which begins Monday.

Cost is $30 for members and $40 for non-members.

MMGA Par 3 tourney slated for today



Meadowlake Men’s Golf Association’s annual Par 3 tournament will be today. There will be a 1 p.m. shotgun start.

NW Oklahoma girls camp to start Monday



Enid girls basketball coach Layne Jones will join forces with NOC Enid women’s coach Scott Morris and Chisholm girls coach Terry Middleton for the Northwest Oklahoma Girls Basketball Camp for grades 3-8 (2009-10).

The camp will run from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday at the Mabee Center.

Cost is $100 and includes a basketball, T-shirt and lunch. For information, call 747-5563.



Firecracker 5K run Saturday in Hillsdale



Hillsdale’s Booster Club will hold the Firecracker 5K run Saturday.

A one-mile fun run will start at 8 a.m., followed by the 5K run at 9. Registration starts at 7 at the start line.

Fees are $10 per participant and includes a T-shirt.

Entries can be mailed to Hillsdale Booster Club, PO Box 30, Hillsdale OK 73742. Packets can be picked up the day of the run. Entrants should put their T-shirt size on the entry.



Tuesday deadline for MAYB tourney



Tuesday is the deadline to enter the 10th annual Enid Mid-America Youth Basketball Association Tournament has been scheduled for July 24-26 for boys and girls in grades 4-12.For information, contact Tim Schwartzenruber at (620) 217-1439 or e-mail him at swartzet@mcpherson.edu.



Pioneer Colts seeking coaches



Pioneer Youth Sports and the Pioneer Colts football team needs two associate head coaches and two position coaches for the 2009 football season to replace coaches deployed overseas. For information, contact Robert Thompson at 554-0680.



Pheasant Run to hold Ryder Cup event



Pheasant Run Men’s Golf Association will be holding a Ryder Cup event Saturday.

The first six holes will be a two-man scramble. The next six holes will be a two-man low ball. The last six holes will be a alternate format. It will be a 4 p.m. shotgun start. For information, call the pro shop at 233-2355.
