Sports briefs for 6-27-09

EJRT swim, tennis

lessons start Monday



Second session of Enid Joint Recreation Triad swimming and tennis lessons will begin Monday.

Morning swim lessons at Champlin Pool will be 9, 9:40, 10:20 and 11 with evening lessons at 7 and 7:35.

Each lesson is 30 minutes. Cost is $15 for 10 lessons. Swimmers can sign up a few minutes before the lesson time or call instructor Susan Glasgow at 540-4004 or e-mail her at sglasgowl@suddenlink.net.

Tennis will consist of four weeks of lessons on either Monday-Wednesday, Tuesday-Thursday or all four days.

Morning times are 8:30, 9:30 and 10:30 at the Ninth Street Courts. Each lesson lasts one hour.

Cost is $25 for twice a week and $40 for all four days. Those interested can enroll at the Ninth Street courts a few minutes before the lesson or call instructor Bruce Hess at 484-2954.



Registration begins for

YMCA/NOC cage camp



Registration is on for the Denny Price Family YMCA/Northern Oklahoma College Enid basketball camps.

The camp for grades 3-6 will be July 20-24 at the Mabee Center. The camp for 4-year old to second grade will be July 27-31 at the YMCA.

Cost is $50 for members and $75 for non-members. Entry deadline is July 15. For information, call the YMCA at 237-4645.



Golf lessons deadline

extended to Sunday



Registration for Denny Price Family YMCA’s golf lessons has been extended to Sunday. Meadowlake pro Cody Lack will conduct the class which begins Monday.

Cost is $30 for members and $40 for non-members.

MMGA Par 3 tourney

slated for Sunday



Meadowlake Men’s Golf Association’s annual Par 3 tournament will be Sunday. There will be a 1 p.m. shotgun start.

NW Oklahoma girls

camp to start Monday



Enid girls basketball coach Layne Jones will join forces with NOC Enid women’s coach Scott Morris and Chisholm girls coach Terry Middleton for the Northwest Oklahoma Girls Basketball Camp for grades 3-8 (2009-10).

The camp will run from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday the Mabee Center.

Cost is $100 and includes a basketball, T-shirt and lunch. For information, call 747-5563.
