NOC Enid men entertain
Connors tonight
Northern Oklahoma College Enid, fresh off a big win at Carl Albert on Monday, entertains Connors State in a men’s junior college basketball game tonight at the Mabee Center. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m.
The Jets (5-3) defeated Carl Albert 98-90 to improve to 1-0 in the region.
The Jets are led by Ben Smith, who is averaging 21 points a game, and Jeremy Lay, who is averaging 20 points.
The NOC Enid women’s team opens the action tonight against the Oklahoma Christian junior varsity. The game begins at 6 p.m.
The Lady Jets (5-2) have lost two straight after opening the season with a 5-0 record.
NOC Enid is led by Deeva Vaughn, who is averaging 22 points a game.
Douglas named junior high
defensive player of year
Taylor Douglas was named the Enid junior high’s defensive player of the year at the softball program’s recent banquet.
Stratton on winning team
at triathlon in Alva
Former Chisholm star Matt Stratton, a pitcher on the Northwestern Oklahoma State baseball team, combined with NWOSU sports information director Ryan Hintergardt and Mark Zadorozny to win the J.R. Holder Wellness Center’s first-ever Turkey Triathlon Saturday.
NWOSU women’s basketball player Kacee McCulley, was second in the women’s college division with a time of 27:55.
Hoopin’ with the Horns
scheduled for Friday
The annual “Hoopin’ with the Horns’’ will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Chisholm’s Paul Outhier Fieldhouse. Chisholm middle school and high school players will be introduced.
There will be a Moms vs. Lady Longhorns game, followed by the men against the faculty, The booster club will be selling taco salad meals for $5 and a hot dog meal for $4.
The Chisholm After Prom committee will be holding an airplane toss.
