BOULDER, Colo. — The Enid Pacers won a pair of extra-inning games Saturday on the final day of the Tournament of Champions softball festival.
The Pacers beat Wheat Ridge, Colo., 1-0 in eight innings before beating Ralston Valley, Colo., 2-1 in nine innings.
In the opener, Alex Jones led off the eighth inning with a single. She stole second, advanced to third on an error and scored on a single by Justine Kodesh.
Jones was 3-for-4 and Tyresha Washington was 2-for-4.
Jones got the win on the mound, allowing two hits with no walks and 12 strikeouts.
Wheat Ridge was last year’s Class 5A runner-up in Colorado.
In the second game, Hayley Hudson homered in the first inning and Washington homered in the ninth.
Jones (16-2) got the win, allowing just one hit.
She struck out 10 and walked three.
Ralston Valley was the 2007 Class 4A state champion.
Enid (16-4) went 3-2 during the festival. The Pacers play at Ponca City on Tuesday.
