Speedway card canceled
For the first time in more than 20 years, Enid Speedway Park is canceling a Saturday night and it is not Mother Nature fault.
According to track promoter Lonnie Coville, a transformer to the grandstands blew this week and can’t be repaired before race time.
“When the transformer blew it apparently burned some underground wires that they can’t find,” said Colville. “The parts will not be here by race time so we are done for this week. We really hate to disappoint our fans and drivers but we do not want anyone to get hurt. We appreciate your loyal support and we’ll see you in two weeks.”
