Cov-Doug to host scrimmage
Covington-Douglas will host a four-team scrimmage featuring Pioneer, Pond Creek-Hunter and Morrison at 6 p.m. Friday.
Admission will be soap, a towel or a VHS tape.
Enid’s Scott sets league record
Former Enid High School star Shanel Scott has set a National Pro Fast-Pitch League record for stolen bases in the regular season with 34 for the New England Riptide.
Scott led the league in runs scored with 33.
She hit .327 with an on-base average of .457.
Scott and her Riptide teams will travel to Akron for the first round of the playoffs Friday.
Meet the Mustangs Night tonight
Pioneer’s All-Sports Booster Club will hold its annual Meet the Mustangs Night at 6 tonight in the high school cafeteria.
The boosters will provide all the toppings for ice cream sundaes. Fans can bring their favorite homemade ice cream.

Drummond sports kickoff tonight
The Drummond All-Sports Booster Club will hold its annual sports kickoff at 7 tonight in the school cafeteria.
The meal is by donation only. Everyone in the community is invited.

Pacers booster club meets tonight
The Enid Pacers Basketball Booster Club will meet at 6 tonight in the Enid High School lectorium.
All parents of players in grades 9-12 are asked to attend.

Enid hoops teams to hold golf event
The Enid Pacers and Plainsmen Basketball Golf Scramble will be held Sept. 16 at Meadowlake Golf Course.
The tournament begins at 1 p.m. and will be divided into two flights.
Cost, which includes green fees, cart, lunch, a T-shirt and door prizes, is $200 per team or $50 per person. Hole sponsorships cost $100.
There will be contests for closest to the pin and longest drive.

EHS football boosters to meet
The Enid High School Football Booster Club will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Honigsberg Fieldhouse to discuss homecoming and the scrimmage against Choctaw.
All junior high and high school parents are encouraged to attend.

EHS boys risk league lead
Enid’s boys will put their Centennial Conference lead on the line tonight when they travel to Stillwater for the second half of a basketball doubleheader at 8. The girls tip off at 6:30.

Oklahoma basketball players Steven Pledger and Andrew Fitzgerald were cited for petty larceny Saturday night at the Dillard’s department store in Sooner Mall.
