GOODWELL — The Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers evened their record in convincing fashion against a struggling opponent Saturday afternoon.
The Rangers (3-3) pounded Oklahoma Panhandle State (0-5) 41-7 after jumping out to a 34-0 halftime lead.
The Aggies lost two games by a combined score of 156-0 earlier this season.
Saturday, the Rangers posted six touchdowns by six different players en route to victory.
NWOSU standout running back Thez Robinson started the scoring with a 6-yard touchdown run with 10:43 to play in the first. He finished the game with seven carries for 66 yards and a score. Rangers running back Rod Gray led all rushers with 88 yards and a score on eight carries.
The Rangers’ “Black Cloud” defense held Panhandle State to just 27 passing yards but gave up 237 yards on the ground.
NWOSU’s next game will be next Saturday at University of Central Oklahoma.
