Unlike their first two games of their season, the No. 14-ranked Northwestern Oklahoma State (1-1) shouldn’t have any problems putting points on the board when the Rangers host New Mexico Highlands (0-5) at 1 p.m. today at Ranger Field.
NMHU (0-5) is giving up 51 points-per-game through their first five games, including a 90-21 drubbing in its first game against West Texas A&M.;
The problem will be stopping the Cowboys’ air attack, which averages 261 yards-per-game. NMHU is averaging three interceptions a game.
The Rangers have had two weeks to prepare for the Cowboys after an unexpected bye week after last Saturday’s game at McNeese State was canceled due to Hurricane Rita.
The Rangers are led by running back Odie Armstrong, who leads the Central States Football League in rushing (139.5 yards per game). NWOSU is tied for the CSFL lead with Southern Nazarene.
The game can be heard on KPAK (97.5) Radio.

Thunder up football fans
