The Enid Pacers reached the girls consolation finals of the Skiatook Tournament by beating Northeastern Oklahoma Association of Homeschoolers 42-41 on Saturday.
Ty Washington scored a season-high 13 points as Enid won despite having 25 turnovers and hitting only 6 of 19 free throws, including 4 of 14 in the fourth quarter.
The Pacers missed two free throws with 6.6 seconds remaining but NOAH turned the ball over before getting a chance for a potential winning shot.
Enid came back from a 34-29 deficit with 7:37 remaining.
Rani Melvin had five points in a 9-0 Enid spurt that gave the Pacers a 38-34 lead. A free throw by Regan Crowl put Enid up 41-35 with 2:30 remaining.
The Lady Jaguars hit only one field goal in the final period — a 3-pointer by Allison Mounts with 1:18 left in the game.
Enid was able to overcome the turnovers with some strong defense. The Lady Jaguars had 23 turnovers and were only 10 of 19 from the line.
Lady Jaguars center Rachel Wynn had 14 points but was held scoreless after making two free throws to give her team a 34-29 lead with 7:37 remaining.
In boys action, the Enid Plainsmen lost to Southmoore 64-57 in the late game. Chris Fitzpatrick led Enid with 34 points.
