Millers rally for 8-7 win over Enid

Kyle Gibson drove in Cisco Factor with a single in the bottom of the seventh to give Yukon a come-from-behind 8-7 victory over Enid at the Gladys Winters Memorial Tournament on Thursday night at David Allen Memorial Ballpark.

Factor led off the inning with a single, went to second on a hit batsmen, stole third and scored when Gibson slammed a pitch from reliever Nick Keeling for the game-winning hit.

The Plainsmen left 12 runners on, including the bases loaded in the second. Joe Black was 3-for-5 while Colter LeGrant and Brady Baugh each had two hits.

Yukon, down 6-0 early in the game, tied the game 7-7 in the fifth with three runs, the big blow being a two-RBI double by Factor. Factor scored when a pop up by Hunter Bohanon fell between shortstop Colter LeGrant, left fielder Brady Baugh and center fielder Joe Black.

Keeling, though, got out trouble by striking out Gibson, getting Tyler Hill to hit into a force play and getting Colby Gathers to pop up.

The Plainsmen missed an opportunity in the sixth after getting runners on first and second with one out. Reliever Gathers struck out pinch-hitter Kaleb Hulva and retired Black on a fielder’s choice.

Yukon’s David Partlow reached third in the bottom of the sixth but the threat ended when Brandon Ruiz flied out.

Enid scored three runs in both the first and second, taking advantage of six Yukon errors and a wild pitch. Mikey Bretado’s RBI double was the big blow of the first. Brock Enmeier drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. LeGrant had an RBI single in the second.

Yukon scored twice in the bottom of the second on consecutive doubles by Hunter Bohannon, Gibson and Tyler Hill. The Millers added two more runs in the third on a two-RBI single by Bohanon.

Bohannon doubled in two runs in the third to cut the lead to 6-4.

Joe Phillips singled in courtesy runner Mike Phillips in the fourth to make it 7-4.
