ENID, Okla. —
Chisholm will be warming up for next week’s regionals when it hosts its own invitational meet Saturday at Crosslin Park.
Crosslin will host the 2A and 3A regionals on Oct. 13.
Chisholm coach Joe Spurlock is expecting anywhere from 15 to 20 schools, including Oklahoma Bible Academy, Laverne, Beaver, Tonkawa, Kingfisher and Northeast Academy among others.
The girls varsity will start at 9 a.m., followed by the boys varsity at 9:30.
While the Longhorns have not had enough runners for a full girls or boys team, they have been successful as individuals.
Fallin Robinett, Logan Amsler and Miku Stone will run for the girls. Tommy Grebe, Ryan Tom and John Beebe will run for the boys.
Robinett was 27th last week at OSU. Grebe and Tom were 45th and 54th among 171 runners in their class.
“I’ve enjoyed this year,’’ Spurlock said. “I take what the Lord gives me and enjoy it. These kids have been fun. They have been getting better every week. They’re all freshmen and they are learning how to run and what it takes to run.’’
The annual “Run for One,’’ benefiting Tyler Zander will be at 7 a.m.
Regional pairings will be announced today.
