Thunder at 4 p.m.: Team not resting recent successes

NORMAN, Okla. — With it's 92-88 victory over New Orleans on Wednesday, Oklahoma City tied a franchise record with its ninth consecutive victory. But for a team that is fresh off playing for a NBA title last year, they do not spend much time dwelling on the accomplishment.

"We definitely think about it," Thunder coach Scott Brooks said. "We don't go through the season not enjoying the work that we put in and the success that we're having. But we are not resting on it. There is a big difference."

The Thunder have an 18-4 record heading into Friday matchup with the Sacramento Kings. Even though 10 straight wins would be something to get excited about, Brooks doesn't want his team to think they have arrived.

“We've talked about it," Brooks said. "I congratulate the guys on their effort and their commitment to getting better and their execution. But you also have to still grind, keep pushing forward, keep fighting and clawing because that's who we are. That's how we win.”
