STILLWATER — Mike Phillips scattered three hits and struck out three in a complete-game effort as the Enid Plainsmen whipped Skiatook 11-3 in five innings in the first round of the Stillwater Tournament at Couch Park.
Phillips walked only one and improved his record to 3-4.
The Plainsmen banged out nine hits, including two home runs.
Mikey Bretado went 3-for-3 with a homer and four RBI. It was his second home run of the season.
“Bretado had a good game at the plate and made some outstanding plays at third base,’’ said Enid coach James Peoples.
Joe Phillips hit his third homer, a two-run blast. Seth Floyd had a double.
Enid (12-9) will play Midwest City at noon today. Lawson King will pitch for Enid.
Christian Lafontan will pitch against Edmond Memorial at 5 p.m. Friday. The tournament concludes Saturday.
