Enid used two big innings — a seven-run first and a five-run sixth — to beat Bartlesville 12-8 to finish off a sweep of a Centennial Conference baseball doubleheader Friday.
The Plainsmen won the opener10-7 behind Brady Baugh, who was for 3 for 4 with 3 RBI and three runs scored.
Two-RBI singles by Erick Ramirez and Dillon Walker were the big blows in the first inning of the opener. Seth Floyd had an RBI single.
Colter LeGrant’s two-RBI single was the big blow of the fifth. Floyd and Miguel Bretado had RBI on errors.
Lawson King was the winning pitcher. He threw one and two-third innings of scoreless relief. Bretado struck out seven before leaving the game in the fourth.
Bartlesville had two runs in the first, four unearned runs in the fourth and two runs in the seventh.
In the first game, Baugh had a two-RBI single in the second and an RBI single in the second. Seth Floyd had two RBI and scored a run in the third when he doubled, went to third on a ground out and scored on a wild pitch.
Joe Black had an RBI double in the third and Erick Ramirez had a single and a double and scored twice. Christian Lafontan had a no-hitter until the fourth. He went 42⁄3 innings, allowing two hits while striking out five and walking five.
“They were both kind of ugly wins,’’ said Enid coach James Peoples, “but we’ll take them any way we can get it.’’
EHS (8-6) will travel to Putnam City North at 2 p.m. today. KCRC (1390 AM) will broadcast the game.
