Pioneer’s boys will put their 15-game winning streak on the line tonight when the Mustangs visit Class A power Frontier in the second half of a girls-boys doubleheader.
Pioneer, 19-1, hasn’t lost since falling to Okarche 49-39 in the finals of the KOFM Classic Dec. 10. They are ranked No. 4 in 2A.
Frontier, 18-6, is ranked No. 8 in Class A. They are 4-4 in its last eight games, including losses to 4A Cleveland, 59-47; 2A Tonkawa, 62-60 in overtime; 2A Pawnee, 50-44 and Class A Coyle, 50-45.
Bret McNaughton is riding a streak of five straight games in double figures.
Frontier beat Pioneer, 55-53 a year ago.
Frontier’s girls, coached by Ames native Clay Stephens, are 17-7 and ranked No. 7 in Class A. The visiting Lady Mustangs are 4-15.
Frontier is riding a five-game winning streak. Carli Woolsey matched her season high with a 11-point effort against Pond Creek-Hunter last week.
Deer Creek-Lamont will visit Kremlin-Hillsdale in the last regular season game for both teams.
The Lady Broncs, 2-19, have lost to the Lady Eagles twice this season — 64-23 in the Pond Creek-Hunter Tournament and 59-23 in the Cherokee Tournament.
The Broncs, 0-21, have not played the Eagles this season.
DCLA’s boys, 7-13, are trying to end a five-game losing streak. The Lady Eagles, 12-8, had a three-game winning streak snapped by Lomega, 55-40 Friday.
Cimarron will be hosting Waynoka in its final regular season game.
