Sooner Report: Several Sooners named to All-Big 12 teams

NORMAN, Okla. — Both the Associated Press and the Big 12 Conference coaches announced their All-Big 12 teams on Wednesday.

Oklahoma center Gabe Ikard, safety Tony Jefferson, cornerback Aaron Colvin were first-team selections on both teams.

Fullback Trey Millard was a first-team selection at fullback for the coaches. He was the second-team tight end on the AP team.

Wide receiver Kenny Stills was a second-team selection on both teams.

Landry Jones had matching votes with West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith on the AP’s second team. The coaches went with Smith as their second-team quarterback behind Kansas State’s Collin Klein.

Left tackle Lane Johnson, defensive end David King and cornerback Demontre Hurst were second-team picks on the coaches and honorable mention picks with the AP.

No Sooners received any individual awards. It was an oddity.

OU has won the most individual awards in the 17-year history of the Big 12 with 27. K-State and Texas are next with 23 winners, followed by Oklahoma State (15), Iowa State (8), Texas Tech (7), Baylor (6) and Kansas (6).
