Fairview’s girls, ranked No. 5 in Class 2A. will be going for their eighth straight win tonight when the Lady Jackets host archrival Chisholm at 6:30 p.m. The boys game will follow at 8.
Coach Mike Barton’s crew is 11-1 overall and 3-0 in the 89er Conference West. They have been bolstered by the return of Olivia Mason off the injured list. The Lady Jackets haven’t lost since falling to Lomega, 53-38 in the finals of the Canton Tournament Dec. 10.
Fairview has beaten Chisholm twice this season — 57-32 on Nov. 22 and 49-13 on Jan. 6 in the semifinals of the Wheat Capital Tournament.
The Lady Longhorns, 5-6 and 1-2, have lost three of their last four games. Ashlyn Carroll leads the offense with a 13.1 average, including a season-high 24 points in a 54-46 loss to Kingfisher Saturday in the third-place game of the Wheat Capital.
Chisholm’s boys, 1-10 and 0-3, have lost five straight. They have lost to Fairview twice, 50-34 and 57-53. Danner Kiernan had a season-high 19 points against the Yellowjackets Saturday in the seventh-place game at the Wheat Capital.
Fairview, 5-7 and 1-2, has lost seven of its last eight games. Grant Nightengale has scored a combined 24 points in the two games against Chisholm.

• Cherokee (9-4, 7-6) at Drummond (10-4, 9-5 — Cherokee’s girls have won five of their last six games. Carli Richmond leads the offense with a 15.7 average. Drummond had a five-game winning streak snapped by Timberlake 62-49 Tuesday. Holly Woods leads the offense with an 11.1 average.
Cherokee’s boys have won four of their last five games. Grant DeWitt has seven straight games in double figures. The Bulldogs have won three of their last four games, including a 67-62 upset of No. 10-ranked Timberlake Tuesday. Brady Kokojan leads the offense with a 19.9 average.
• Garber (10-4,7-7) at Waukomis (11-3, 2-12) — Garber’s girls lead the Skeltur Conference race at 4-0 with Waukomis a game behind at 3-1. The visiting Lady Wolverines’ Jennifer Pralle (20) and Megan Terry (22) had season highs in a 74-66 win over Cimarron Tuesday. WHS had a six-game winning streak broken by Pond Creek-Hunter Tuesday, 61-41. Kayla Lovell leads the attack, averaging 16 points per game.
The Wolverines had their second highest offensive output of the season in beating Cimarron 66-30 Tuesday behind 18 points from Ryan Creed. The Chiefs have lost seven of their last eight games. Trevor Howard had 12 points in a 85-42 loss to Pond Creek-Hunter Tuesday.
• Mooreland (8-4, 9-3) at OBA (5-8, 1-11) — Mooreland’s boys have won four of their last five games. OBA has lost 11 straight, falling just short at Cashion (42-41) on Tuesday.
OBA’s girls have won four of their last six games, including a 37-35 thriller over Cashion Tuesday. The Lady Bearcats have won three of their last four games.
• Mulhall-Orlando (1-11, 5-9) at Kremlin-Hillsdale (0-13, 0-13) —M-O’s girls beat Carney, 51-46 for seventh place at their own invitational Saturday. Katie Davis has averaged 13.1 points over the last seven games for the Lady Broncs, including six games in double figures.
Mulhall-Orlando’s boys were third at their own invitational tournament last weekend. They are coming off a 51-49 loss to Oilton. Trev Schoenhals is coming off back-to-back games in double figures for the Broncs.
• Shidler (11-7, 9-9) at Covington-Douglas (6-6, 5-7) – The Lady Tigers have won three of their last four games, including a 32-29 win over Hominy Tuesday. The Lady Wildcats beat Glencoe 35-29. Coy Stevens leads the offense with a 10.9 average.
The Tigers were sixth at last week’s Mulhall-Orlando Tournament. The Wildcats are coming off a 90-45 loss to Glencoe. Quentin Thayer leads the offense with a 14.5 average.
