ENID — 2 place at junior high

state wrestling tourney



Two Enid wrestlers placed at last weekend’s Junior High All-State wrestling tournament at State Fair Arena in Oklahoma City.

Jake Scott was second at 200 pounds in the 8th-9th-grade division. He had a 5-1 record with two falls.

Zach Overback was fourth at 161 pounds in the 6th-7th-grade division. He was 4-2 with one fall.

“Every wrestler came home with multiple wins,’’ said Enid coach Jory Dick. “This was a learning experience for my younger guys. Overall, I saw a lot of improvement this year.’’



EHS alumni soccer

games set Saturday



Enid High School will hold its alumni girls (noon) and boys (2 p.m.) soccer matches Saturday at D. Bruce Selby Stadium.

Some 50 players participated in the games last year and EHS coach Craig Liddell hopes to have even more this season.

There will be a Meet the Pacers and Plainsmen as well.

Interested players should contact Liddell at 747-7763.

Enid’s Blue and White soccer scrimmages will be Thursday at D. Bruce Selby Stadium.

The junior varsity will play at 3:45 p.m., followed by the varsity girls at 5 and the varsity boys at 6:15.



Wednesday deadline

for YMCA racquetball



Wednesday is the deadline to register for the Denny Price Family YMCA’s men’s racquetball league. Play is scheduled to begin the first week of March.

Cost is $10 for members and $20 for non-members.

to meet Wednesday



Enid Bass Club will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Moose Lodge to review the 2010 tournament season. Interested guests are welcome.



Mason-Griffin named

Big 12 Rookie of Week



NORMAN (AP) — University of Oklahoma freshman guard Tommy Mason-Griffin is the Big 12 Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week.

Mason-Griffin is being honored after scoring 24 points with five rebounds and four assists in an 80-71 upset win over Texas.
