Stephen Pledger scored 15 points and three other Oklahoma players scored in double figures as the Sooners beat Louisiana-Monroe 85-51 Sunday.
Andrew Fitzgerald and Amath M’Baye each scored 12 points for Oklahoma and Je’Lon Hornbeak scored 10.
The game provided OU coach Lon Kruger, whose first team was 15-16 last season, with the opportunity to play 12 of 14 players on his roster, including freshman guard trio Buddy Hield, Hornbeak and Isaiah Cousins. The three combined for 70 minutes, 21 points and shot a combined 8 of 20 from the floor.
OU converted 9 of 23 shots from beyond the 3-point arc and dominated the glass, outrebounding the Warhawks 49-30. OU’s bench, which played most of the second half, outscored ULM’s 37-14 for the game and 20-1 in the first half.
