ENID — Chris Fitzpatrick scored 28 points and Alex Patterson added 18 but the Enid Plainsmen lost to Star Spencer 74-65 in overtime Saturday at the Deer Creek Tournament.
Enid was outscored 9-0 in the extra period and fell to 11-5 overall.
Star Spencer is the defending state champion in Class 4A.
Enid will travel to Ponca City on Tuesday.
Rani Melvin scored a game-high 18 points and Courtney Chelf added 14 in the Enid girls’ 55-40 win over Western Heights Saturday in the consolation title game.
“We played very well — especially the first three quarters,” Enid coach Layne Jones said after the Pacers improved to 9-7 this season.
Chelf, who averaged 17.3 points a game in her last three games, including a 25-point effort against Oklahoma Christian School in the semifinals, was selected to the all-tournament team.
