Sports brief

EHS swimmers face Bartlesville

Enid's swimmers will concentrate on state qualifying times during a dual at Bartlesville today.

Ruth Megli, Anna Cofer, Bret Henneke and Anthony Miller will not swim in the relays, so they have more energy for individual events, said Enid coach Susan Glasgow.

Three swimmers -- Z Naddaf, Kelsey Stark and Caleb Holden -- will miss the meet because of illness.

"It's a fast pool over there," Glasgow said. "Our kids love swimming there because the facilities are so awesome. It's going to hurt us to be without Z, Kelsey and Caleb because swimming is a numbers game."

Bartlesville beat the Enid girls 109-56 last season, while the Plainsmen lost to the Bruins 93-91.

Glasgow said a scheduled meet at Moore Thursday might be moved to Enid because of problems with the Lions' pool.

She said a final decision will be made today.
