Here's a vote for keeping the Oklahoma-Texas game in the Dallas area.
It's fine to move the game from the creaky Cotton Bowl to the new stadium in Arlington when it's ready.
Just don't go home and home.
That would destroy the tradition of the game. The crowd being half-red and half-orange gives it sex appeal that few other games have.
Take that away and it's just another game -- a big game -- but it's not the OU-Texas weekend.
Can't imagine Campus Corner in Norman resembling Commerce Street in Dallas the night before.
It would not have the same economic impact for Norman or Austin as it would the Dallas area.
Another thing is how would you distribute the tickets?
There's been talk about the visiting team getting 20,000 tickets instead of the usual 4,000 or 5,000. Which season ticket holders wouldn't get seats?
As it's been reported, many OU donors give an extra donation to the athletic department to make sure they get Texas tickets. OU awards Texas tickets on a point system.
That might be affected by a home-and-home series. Why give the really big bucks to only get OU-Texas tickets every other year.
The score (45-12) wasn't the only thing painful for OU fans in Dallas this year. One couldn't help but notice all the orange on OU's side of the field. One Sooner fan could be heard to say that any Sooner fans selling their tickets to UT fans should be banned from Owen Field..
