Former Enid High School star Daniel Holtzclaw of Eastern Michigan has been named the Mid-America Conference West Division Defensive Player of the Week.
Holtzclaw, a true middle linebacker, had two solo and nine assisted tackles in a 27-20 win over Kent State Saturday. He had first collegiate interception.
He leads the team in tackles with 53 stops.
Eastern Michigan leads the Mid-America West with a 2-0 record. The Eagles go to Toledo this Saturday.
