Pheasant Run to hold

Ryder Cup-like event



Pheasant Run Men’s Golf Association will be holding a Ryder Cup event Saturday.

The first six holes will be a two-man scramble. The next six holes will be a two-man low ball. The last six holes will be a alternate format. It will be a 4 p.m. shotgun start. For information, call the pro shop at 233-2355.



Races rained out at

Enid Speedway Park



Saturday’s race at Enid Speedway Park were rained out.

The next card will be at 7 p.m. next Saturday.



Pioneer Colts set

youth football camp



Pioneer-Enid Colts football punt, pass and kick football camp will run July 20-21 and July 23-24. A cookout will be held the last night.

Non-Pioneer district players will be charged $15 for the non-contact camp.

College players will be instructors. Speakers will be announced.

Tuesday deadline

for MAYB tourney



Tuesday is the deadline to enter the 10th annual Enid Mid-America Youth Basketball Association Tournament has been scheduled for July 24-26 for boys and girls in grades 4-12.

Firecracker 5K run

scheduled Saturday



Hillsdale’s Booster Club will hold the Firecracker 5K run Saturday.

Hillsdale is located 20 minutes northwest of Enid.

A one-mile fun run will start at 8 a.m., followed by the 5K run at 9.

Fees are $10 per participant and includes a T-shirt.

Entries can be mailed to Hillsdale Booster Club, P.O. Box 30, Hillsdale OK 73742. Entrants should put their T-shirt size on the entry.

Pre-registration packets can be picked up from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Hillsdale Community Building or 5-7 p.m. Friday at the Denny Price Family YMCA. Runners also can register at 7 a.m. Saturday at the start line.





Zaloudek, Harmon fall

in consolation finals



Two Enid players lost in the consolation finals of a Missouri Valley Tennis Association Futures Tournament in Wichita last weekend. Mackenzie Zaloudek, in Girls 18s, fell to Kansas City’s Merritt Whitley, 6-0, 6-2; Tyler Harmon, in Boys 12s, fell to Wichita’s Miles Medaris, 6-1, 6-3. Locals had an overall record of 13-28 in the tournament.
