Major County Retired Educators announced the second year for a scholarship established to further assist in the education of a Major County student who is planning to become an educator.
First priority is a student who has graduated from a Major County high school and who presently is taking the necessary courses specified by their college or university for entry into teacher education.
Also considered would be a high school senior who will graduate from a Major County school and planning to enter a teaching career.
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of educational goals, academic ability, need and school activity participation.
The application will consist of a student resumé and letters of recommendation. For information regarding what the resumé and letters should contain write to Major County Retired Educators Scholarship Committee, c/o Robert Freed, RR2 Box 97, Okeene, OK 73763.
The student resumé and letters of recommendation must be postmarked by June 1 for consideration. The winner will be notified soon after the deadline.
