5 EHS vocal music students chosen for All-State Chorus festival

Five vocal music students from Enid High School's vocal music department auditioned and were selected for the All-State Chorus festival that will be held in January in Tulsa.

Selected as first sopranos were Kelsey Stark and Emily Gober. Selected as first tenors were Nathan Lauderdale and Jason Cash. Selected as a first alto was Riscoe Burton.

The students will attend the Jan. 19-21 event in Tulsa, rehearsing with the best choral students in the state culminating in a concert the afternoon of Jan. 21 in the Tulsa Performing Arts Center.

The students are under the direction of Enid High School vocal music teacher Randy Johnson.

Students are responsible for paying for their own accommodations for the entire weekend. Anyone interested in helping these students financially or to receive a musical program for a club or group, contact Johnson at Enid High School, 234-2404.







Freedom assembly held



Farm Bureau Women's Group chairwomen Judy Anglin presented the American Freedom Assembly featuring Gary Horton of Trussville, Ala., to high school groups at Chisholm and Kremlin-Hillsdale Schools Monday.

Horton motivates young people to understand America's strength lies within each and every one of the students, according to information provided by Horton.

Principals Scot Trower of Chisholm and Jon Butler of Kremlin-Hillsdale introduced Horton to students and members of the Farm Bureau Women presented each high school with a flag that has been flown over the nation's Capitol.







EHS music department to host Christmas concert Thursday



The Enid High School Instrumental Music Department will present its annual Christmas concert Thursday at 7 p.m. in the EHS auditorium, located at 611 W. Wabash.

The show will feature performances by the school's concert bands including jazz ensemble I and jazz ensemble II, as well as the symphonic band and wind ensemble.

The event is free to the public.
