Leonardo’s hosts Noon Year’s Eve

ENID, Okla. — The fifth annual Noon Year’s Eve celebration will be 10 a.m. to noon Monday at Leonardo’s Discovery Warehouse.

The carnival-type atmosphere will include games with prizes, bounce house, Segway rides, face painting, arts and crafts, Coke walk, food and a countdown to noon, complete with bubble wrap fireworks.

“Here at Leonardo’s, we emphasize fun for the whole family,” said Tabitha Buller, event coordinator. “On New Year’s Eve, children are often left at home with a sitter, so we want them to have their own celebration beforehand.”

The cost to attend is $3 for Leonardo’s members and $6 for non-members and also includes all-day admission to the museum. Adventure Quest will open at noon, weather permitting. Most of the activities will take place on the second floor of the museum.

Pee Wee’s Mobile Music will be on hand to provide music, and a free lunch will be donated by McDonald’s, Chick-fil-A and Golden Chick while supplies last.

Leonardo’s staff will sell homemade baked goods, with all proceeds going to the capital campaign.

“Something new this year is a Coke walk, in which participants can win free two-liter bottles of their favorite soda pop,” Buller said. “The Coke walk will take place regularly throughout the two-hour event, allowing everyone a chance to win.”

Monday also is the last day to take advantage of the semi-annual Leonardo’s membership drive, in which new and renewed family memberships are discounted 10 percent.

A family or grandparent membership allows five family members unlimited visits to Leonardo’s and Adventure Quest for a year, plus discounts on birthday parties, camps and gift shop purchases.

Leonardo’s is accepting enrollments for the winter session of Hiland Partners Science Adventure Club on Tuesday or Thursday afternoon beginning January, as well as Tools for Home Schools, Friday art and science classes for home school students beginning Jan. 11.
