Letter: Let us pray for the 26 in Connecticut

ENID, Okla. — As I write this, I have a broken heart and tears are streaming down my cheeks. My thoughts and prayers go out to the little angels that were robbed of their life last Friday in Connecticut.

They died before they lived. When I see their pictures and see their families on television, I cannot keep from crying.

Today, two of the 6-year-olds were buried, the first of the 20 victims that will be buried this week. I really do not know how their families can bear up under such a burden. If something like this happened to any of my family, I don’t see how I could survive, and wouldn’t want to.

How anyone could harm even one of these sweet little innocent souls is far beyond me. I am sure that on judgment day, the killer will reap his reward.

The six educators who were killed are heroes and gave their lives trying to save the lives of those in their charge. They have families that will mourn their loss, and we should all pray for them.

Nothing has had an impact on me as this incident has since my wife’s death eight years ago. Let us all pray for the 26 that were killed and their families and hope this never happens again.
