E-Lose It offers ideas to get your kids eating right

Enid News and Eagle

— How do you get kids to eat what is good for them?

Well, you don’t tell them how healthful it is, for one thing. But the other thing you could do is package it in a fun and attractive way so it appeals to them.

We like this idea of baby carrot farmers launching a campaign that pitches those little crunchy baby carrot snacks as fun food. And it’s all in the packaging.

The “Baby Carrots Extreme” is just one campaign we think has a lot of potential.

There evidently even is a Halloween version of the baby carrots that will come in spooky packaging. We don’t know how or when this campaign will make it to Oklahoma, but we hope it won’t take long.

Some of the people in charge of this marketing campaign formerly were associated with Coca-Cola, which has had some very successful marketing and branching campaigns. So, we believe this program will have a lot of appeal, sell a lot of carrots, and the best thing, get kids eating more healthy snacks.

As Enid News & Eagle and our partners launch our second year of E-Lose It, we will be looking for ways to make healthful eating and living fun and enjoyable.

If we see a good idea, we’ll pass it along to you. Be sure to look for our new weekly E-Lose It update and also check the website at www.e-loseit.com.
