ENID, Okla. —
Since I am a 1927 Model T, I have witnessed the 1930s Dust Bowl first-hand, as well as the recent television series by Ken Burns on PBS.
Of all the dozens of Dust Bowl personalities shown, I did not see even one fat one, nor anyone with cosmetic hardware poked through their lips, noses or eyebrows, no tattoos on their legs or necks.
The only thing popular today is the torn and tattered jeans, but they cost more.
