Enid News and Eagle

In a society where so many of our youth are at risk, it is important for programs like YouthBuild to receive support.
We are extremely fortunate Enid’s YouthBuild program has received a $900,000 grant from the U.S. Labor Department.
Community Development Support Association (CDSA) operates YouthBuild for Enid, and this funding helps it continue its good work for three more years. YouthBuild works with people ages 16-24 and focuses on both academic and occupational skills.
The YouthBuild program in Enid has been very successful, and that is one reason it continues to receive funding. Youth participate through application and includes court referrals, family member referrals and word of mouth.
Openings for the program are limited, and the program is very popular.
In the two years since YouthBuild has been active in Enid, organizers say they can really see the youth grow into adults through offerings provided by the program. Organizers see young people making better choices, and that is key for putting at-risk youth on the road to success.
We appreciate CDSA for administering this program, and we appreciate the continued confidence of the Department of Labor in Enid’s YouthBuild program.
